Biography of Sher Bahadur Deuba

Sher Bahadur Deuba (Age 69 years) is the prominent political figure from Nepal. He plays the influential role in decision making of his party- Nepali Congress. He ha run this beautiful Nation as a Prime Minister for three times- in 1995, 2001 and 2004. It was during his tenure as a Prime Minister that the then King Gyanendra took power in his hand through coup détat by imprisoning Deuba in charge of corruption.  He has also been the parliamentary leader of Nepali Congress. He has experience of spending nine long years in imprisonment during the struggle for democracy.

Deuba- Early Life

Born in 13th June 1946 in remote Dadeldhura district, he has made a remarkable achievement. Deuba was involved with Nepalese politics since his school life. He was the Founder Central Member of Nepal Student Union (NSU), the student wing of Nepali Congress. He was also the first elected head of NSU. His political career gained momentum after he won the 2048 Parliament election from his birthplace Dadeldhura afterwards which he was made the Home Minister under Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.

Education

Deuba has a Masters Degree in Political Science while he holds Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Law. He was also the Research Fellow of politics in prestigious London School of Economics from 1988 to 1989.

 Sher Bahadur Deuba- Family Life

Sher Bahadur is a married man. He tied his knots with Philanthropist and activist Arzu Rana while he was the Home Minister at the age of 45 years. Together with his wife, Deuba has a son named Jaiveer Singh Deuba. His current house address is in Budanilkantha.
