 Itinerary plan for Kathmandu Rim Trek

 Day 01: Drive to Sundarijal and trek to Chisopani:

Sundarijal which exists 15km North- East of Kathmandu can be accessed through an hour long drive from Chabahil which marks the initiation of real trekking experience.The route winds its way up through Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve and advances further up to the hill through the woods to arrive to Mulkharka- a Tamang Village. The route escalates further up through the  forest of rhododendrons and oaks to make it to Bhanjyang Borlang. The beaten track later descends to Chisopani (2140m) which serves as the vantage point for viewing the panoramic views of the Annapurna and Everest mountains. You have to conclude the trek at Chisopani for the day.

Day 02: Trek  to Nagarkot:

The trail on this day proceeds downhill and undergo through pine forest and small settlements to make it to Nagarkot- a widely popular tourist destination around Kathmandu Valley. A tower stands high on Nagarkot which provides extensive views of Kathmandu Valley and panoramic views of  Everest, Manaslu, Gauri Shankar and other mountains of Eastern Nepal. Nagarkot is jam- packed with hotels of different standards. Choose wisely the one that suits you and take a well deserved rest from the trek.

Day 03: Trek to Dhulikhel:

 Nagarkot is acclaimed for the sunrise viewing. You need to get up early at around 5:30 am to have a view of the radiant sunrays spilling over the snow- cladded mountain peaks. The sensation your body feels will simply be inexplicable. After having breakfast, you will set off for the next destination- Dhulikhel which will take about 6 hrs to cover 2010m of distance on foot. Hotels and lodges of different standards are available in Dhulikhel. You can stay in any one that meets your criteria.

Day 04: Drive back to Kathmandu via Bhaktapur and Patan:

After early breakfast, you will drive through Araniko Highway. You will stop by  Bhaktapur to unveil its prized posession which includes Bhaktapur Durbar Square,Palace of 55 windows, Golden Gate, the Nyatapole Temple and the Pottery Square. If you feel like it, you can drop in on the city of Patan (city of fine arts).The city which is believed to have been established during the reign of Vira Deva is full of monuments, Buddhist and Hindu temples with fine bronze doors, the guardian deities and wonderful carvings. Later towards the end of the day, you will return back to kathmandu and thus the 4days long travel gets accomplished.
